OSCA coordinates the SCU heats and final of the National Campus Band Competition each year.

General Information

• To be eligible to enter, each band must have had at least one currently enrolled SCU student in it.
• Each band will play a 20 minute set with a 15 minute changeover.
• The judging criteria is out of 100 points, broken down into the following:
  

  Originality of music	30 points
  Musicianship	30 points
  Stage presentation	20 points
  Recording viability	10 points
  Audience response	10 points

• SCU NCBC entries open in March 2011. Entry is free and online at: www.aaca.net.au
• SCU NCBC entries close on Friday 15^th July 2011
• All heats and the SCU Final will be held at the Unibar, Lismore campus.

SCU Final - Prizes

• 1 × paid gig at the SCU Unibar
• 1 × paid gig at Lennox Head Hotel

• 1 × $500 voucher compliments Ellaways, Brisbane 2 days recording time plus engineer compliments Rockinghorse Studios, Byron Bay.

QLD State Final - Information

• Date: Thursday 1^st Sept 2011
• Venue: SCU Unibar, Military Road East Lismore NSW
• Time: 8:30pm kick off
• Prizes: Highest overall scoring band will win $500 cash and $1500 travel money to represent QLD and compete in the National Campus Band Competition Final in Melbourne, VIC in October 2011.
• Please Note: The highest scoring SCU band on the night will win the SCU Final Prizes. The highest scoring band overall, including other QLD universities' bands will win the QLD State Final.
