Marjorie joined Southern Cross University (when it was the University of New England, Northern Rivers) in 1990, following two years lecturing in London. Whilst lecturing in London, Marjorie was actively involved with The Open University, where she taught in their MBA and DMS distance programs. Prior to entering academic life, Marjorie had 16 years' experience in marketing and management in the UK. Her business career has spanned industrial, consumer and service markets; notably with Shell Chemicals UK, the Sunbeam Corporation, and managing a marketing and promotions agency respectively. In 1995 Marjorie was selected to join the Graduate College of Management. Within the Graduate College of Management, Marjorie served as Director of Masters programs, with specific responsibility for the MBA, from 2004 until June 2010. Marjorie teaches in Marketing, International Business and Strategy. She has contributed significantly to the development of the Marketing specialisation in the MBA. Her current research interests are sports sponsorship and its effectiveness, the globalisation debate in international marketing, and the creation and delivery of value. She also has a growing interest in research in transnational education.
