Dr Barr’s research program is focused on self help and self management. Key areas include: • Chronic illness, • Mental health, in particular Postnatal depression, and • Women recovering from domestic violence. Research inquiry has included adaptation, learning to manage symptoms and facilitating health promotion, particularly through technologies. Key achievements have included obtaining an ARC-linkage grant and an invitation to join staff as a fellow at the University of Connecticut, USA working with Distinguished Professor Cheryl Beck. |
