Matt is currently Lecturer in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Matt holds a Bachelor of Sport Tourism Management, a Bachelor of Business in Tourism Management with Honours, and a PhD, all from SCU. In 2006 he was awarded the SCU University Medal for academic achievement. Matt's primary research interest is in the field of sports tourism. His PhD research examined independent cycling holidays in Australia and he has undertaken numerous other research projects looking at cycling and cycle tourism. His other research interests include the motivations and behaviours of sport-focused leisure participants, non-elite participation in sporting events, event sponsorship, and strategic management in leisure and tourism enterprises.
