Scott is a Finance lecturer with the Southern Cross Business School (SCBS). He holds a Bachelor of Business with First Class Honours and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Finance from Southern Cross University. Scott teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses(both domestically and internationally) such as foundations of finance, portfolio/wealth management, corporate finance, financial derivatives and risk management. His research is driven by financial econometrics using time-series data and other empirical approaches, and is particularly passionate about the informational efficiency of securities markets (both developed and emerging), funds management performance (both conventional and socially responsible), options trading, and the carbon economy. Scott also holds the position of SCBS Honours Coordinator, sits on the Honours Advisory Group (HAG) Committee, and is an active SCBS Research Committee member. Scott has also worked as a private client advisor and wealth manager in the stockbroking industry, gaining high level Australian stock and derivatives accreditation. He has traded shares, options and warrants during his career. Outside of his work commitments, Scott enjoys investing, sports, wine, cooking, reading, cinema, concerts, theatrical productions, and spending time with family and friends.
