Southern Cross University provides access to a range of scholarships to support students in their studies. The various categories of scholarships are designed to not only recognise academic excellence but also support disadvantaged students undertaking our courses. Rising Stars Scholarships These Scholarships comprise those awarded for academic excellence for: - students completing their HSC year and considering their course at SCU,
- students in specific courses completing continuing studies and
- students demonstrating achievement under conditions of disadvantage.
Honours Scholarships Honours scholarships support students progressing from their third year into an honours year in a chosen field of study. Tourism Internship Scholarships Internship scholarships assist students currently enrolled within the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management financially whilst undertaking their four core Internship units. Scholarships may be linked to particular companies or available for international internships. Students should check CareerHub for current availabilities or contact their campus based Internship Officer for further information. Equity Scholarships The Equity Scholarship program offers assistance to first year students experiencing financial and other disadvantages and continuing students also requiring support under equity-based criteria. This program is being finalised for 2010 and further details will be available soon. Disability Scholarships A number of external organisations also offer scholarships for students who suffer from physical impairment. A list of scholarships can also be found under this heading on the Related Links page Indigenous Scholarships The federal government continues to offer Indigenous Scholarships through universities. These scholarships are applied for under the Equity Scholarship program International Exchange Scholarships (For Outbound SCU students) SCU students undertaking approved International Exchange programs may be eligible to apply for assistance under the various programs available. Our SCU International Office can assist you with these enquiries. Postgraduate Scholarships Postgraduate Scholarships for Masters and PhD candidates are managed by the Division of Research. Bursaries and Prizes Academic bursaries and prizes are awarded for outstanding performance in specific subjects, courses or research thesis topics. Scholarship Links There are many externally funded opportunities for scholarships through industries and philanthropic organisations which you may be eligible for. Under this section are examples of those that may apply to SCU students.
