Teaching and Learning

Welcome

Welcome to the Division of Teaching and Learning's web site containing resources and strategies to support and advance teaching and learning excellence for students and staff at SCU.

Our work is underpinned by a learning centred approach which positions student learning at the centre of decisions and practice. The learning process acknowledging the attributes and active roles of students alongside those of teachers, the disciplines, research and the community is considered.

We work side by side with academic staff and students to implement the University's strategic directions through two teams of academic staff: Academic Skills Development and Teaching and Curriculum. These teams are made up of academic staff with specialist expertise in diverse aspects of teaching and learning in higher education. Each school has representatives from these teams as key contacts and as conduits to more expansive, specialised expertise within the Division. The Division also manages strategic projects about teaching and learning.

The Division resides within the portfolio of Professor Andrew McAuley, PVC (Academic).
