Jenni Cargill-Strong began as a part-time sessional academic in the Storytelling Unit, within the School of Education in 2006. From 2011to 2020, Jenni was a guest lecturer for Occupational Therapy students and was briefly a Teacher's Assistant in an introductory Marketing Unit for the School of Business. In 2012, with FLDS, she created several video student resources for the Storytelling Unit, commissioned by the School of Education, as well as a video called 'Supercharging your Presentations' commissioned by the SCU Business School.
Jenni has been a professional storyteller for thirty years. She toured schools and preschools in Australia and New Zealand for Nora Goodridge Management, then Speakers Ink and localy, Story Board. She self-published five award-winning recordings for children and adults, as well as videos. Jenni has experience as a secondary teacher and qualifications and experience in disability support work. She has taught storytelling for The Byron Bay Writer’s Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Byron College, in schools, at folk festivals and online. In 2003, Jenni developed storytelling workshops, which she has taught live and online ever since. Her passions and focus are storytelling for community connection, healing and as a way to reconnect listeners to place and country.
