Research
Valentina’s research is concentrated on two main interrelated areas. First, she examines the impact of neoliberal policies on educational equity and access in early childhood and primary education. Second, she explores how initial teacher education programs can better prepare future educators to resist the detrimental effects of neoliberalism, fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments that support disadvantaged families and empower marginalized communities. Additionally, her work also investigates ways to improve early literacy practices, policies, and experiences for children from diverse backgrounds.
