Technology Services Mr TS Infrastructure Services Manager The Infrastructure Services Team is situated within the Technology Services Directorate. Infrastructure Services support the University by providing core IT infrastructure and services critical to business operations. The primary mission of the Infrastructure Services Team is to deploy and maintain robust, scalable and agile platforms that enable applications and services to support University operations. Service description Services provided by the Team include: Infrastructure Management ICT Solutions/Design, planning and implementation services for all corporate ICT requirements Services monitoring, fault detection diagnosis and resolution ICT infrastructure procurement, vender and asset management Cloud integration Capacity and performance management and planning Solution proposals and tendering Contract management Technology advice and recommendations Systems and services 24X7 monitoring and alerting Business Continuity and Disaster recovery solutions and architectures Campus Networks and Internet Connectivity Provision and maintenance of wired and wireless network connectivity for on-campus, inter-campus, andthe Internet Network expansion Internet and network security Campus based wireless hotspots and provision of wireless services Provision Virtual Private Network (VPN) services for remote secure connections to University network Eduroam Access (National Education wireless service) Data Centre and Resource Provisioning Administer and maintain the University corporate Data Centre facilities Provision server and storage capacity required to support the University's application services Backup and Recovery Backup and recovery of all corporate information systems data TS Systems Authentication and Authorisation Administration of the corporate directory services for user account provisioning authentication and authorization Single Sign On for services including wireless, email and computer logons Infrastructure Systems and Applications Applications solutions support for design and planning for corporate and small applications and systems within the University (such as CRM, Finance, Student, HR, Payroll systems, as well as a variety of research and other administrative systems) Provide a range of utility services in support of the University's ICT environment including; Domain Name Services (DNS), Web services, Active Directory (AD), LDAP, load sharing and application security, O365 Email/Messaging and Calendaring, and operating system maintenance and virtualized infrastructures Service values The Infrastructure Services Team aims to identify and implement IT initiatives which will better serve the University business goals by improving communications, systems performance and availability.
