Helen Walsh is a lecturer at the School of Law and Justice and is also the School’s Director of the Summer and Winter Law School.
As a teaching scholar, Helen’s primary focus is on providing a smooth transition experience for her students and a supportive and positive learning environment that fosters respectful relationships and promotes intellectual engagement.
She received the SCU Vice-Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning for her significant and sustained commitment to the support, engagement, learning and retention of students in first year undergraduate law programs.
Helen has a Master of Laws from QUT and her research interests include legal education, family law and children’s law.
Helen is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and, prior to her appointment at SCU, was employed in private practice in the Northern Rivers region working mainly in the area of family and criminal law.
