Dr Pascal Scherrer is a Senior Lecturer at Southern Cross University (SCU), New South Wales, Australia. With a background in environmental science and ecotourism, Pascal’s main research interest is in sustainable tourism and visitor management in natural and cultural landscapes, addressing the areas of environmental, social and cultural impacts and their relationship. His research experience spans a variety of tourism contexts, including coastal, island, indigenous, remote and protected area settings. Pascal is a member of the IUCN World Commission of Protected Areas (WCPA) and serves on the Regional National Parks advisory board. His key areas of interest include: - holistic concepts of sustainability in tourism and educational contexts - bridging the research-management divide - dealing with wicked problems/contexts - cultural (Indigenous) and natural (often protected) landscapes - knowledge co-production, hybrid spaces, and transformational and performative action
