Matt Hill is a Senior Lecturer and the Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Contemporary Music at Southern Cross University. He completed a PhD at James Cook University with a practice-based study researching the influence of new technologies on music creation in a variety of genres from historical, analytical and personal practice perspectives. His research interests include collaborative music making processes, film music, music analysis and musician careers. Matt is a composer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist and has worked in a wide range of contemporary music contexts. He is the keyboard player and sound-scape co-designer with the group amphibian, with whom he has toured to the UK and throughout Australia. He won the NCIEA Dolphin album of the year award for his solo album "Warm Keep Warm" and has received Australia Council for the Arts grants with amphibian. His album "Stars and the Moon and Satellites" was released in 2018.
