BIOGRAPHY
Associate Professor Romy Lauche is Deputy Director: Research at the National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM). She has a background and qualifications in psychology, and a PhD in medical sciences.
Romy has further received comprehensive training in research methodology; and has extensive experience in clinical and non-clinical research, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, mixed-methods research and statistical analyses of large population health datasets.
Her current research program includes a focus upon the use, efficacy and safety of naturopathic modalities such as herbal medicines as well as yoga, Tai Chi, lifestyle interventions and self-care in the context of chronic illness, and the analyses of large national and international population health datasets.
Romy has published over 150 refereed journal articles, and contributed to multiple book chapters. Her work as attracted more than 2500 citations, with an h-index of 29 and an i10-index of 68 (Scopus). She is also member of several journal editorial boards. Romy currently holds appointments as Visiting Senior Research Fellow with the University of Monash (Nursing and Midwifery) and the University of Technology Sydney (Faculty of Health).
