National Reconciliation Week
27 May - 3 June 2022
National Reconciliation Week is a time for everyone to come together to learn about Australia’s shared histories, cultures and achievements and continue to build respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community.
This year’s theme is ‘Be Brave. Make Change.’ - a challenge for all Australians – individuals, families, communities, organisations and government to ‘Be Brave’ and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can ‘Make Change’ for the benefit of all Australians.
Southern Cross University Indigenous Events Coordinating Committee (SCUIECC) invites you to come along and listen to a Yarning Circle with Elders, SCU Executive, Faculty Deans, Work Unit Heads and SCU staff as they share the achievements of reconciliation taking place across the University.
It’s also an opportunity to explore ways how to continue to share the University’s values and the values of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities to inspire our students, staff and the wider community to ‘transform tomorrow’ through reconciliation.
The Yarning Circle will be zoomed across each campus and online with an opportunity to ask questions afterwards.
