Research focus

I studied my BSc in Biology at the Università Politecnica delle Marche (IT), with emphasis on the dynamics of benthic communities (2014). I completed a MSc in Biology – Marine Science in 2017 at the University of Southern Denmark, with a thesis focusing on the oxygen and nitrogen cycling in bioturbated marine sediment and related implications for organic matter mineralization.

Currently, I am looking at the role played by seagrass habitats in GHG emissions (CO2, CH4, and N2O), and the dynamics of nitrogen pathways (e.g. nitrification, denitrification, anammox). The ongoing research will rely on a multi-technique approach (e.g. IPT, N2:Ar, picarro, NOx biosensors) to determine whether differences will be due to species-specific effect or method impedance.
