Research Interests

I received my undergraduate degree in geology from Macalester College and completed my master's degree at University of Arizona. For my masters project, I measured carbon and oxygen isotopes in speleothem calcite in order to estimate seasonal rainfall in the Southwest U.S. during interglacial periods.

In my PhD I investigated the concentration and isotopomer ratio of nitrous oxide in Australian estuary waters. Among other things, this project aimed to determine whether or not local estuaries contribute to atmospheric concentrations of nitrous oxide, an important greenhouse gas.
