My Uni, My Story - Mohit Trevedi, Masters International Tourism and Hotel Management (Advanced)

I got nominated this year for the UniLife Awards for Contribution to Campus Community category.

Late last year, I established SCU's first debating club. I also have been involved with CoastRs Student Association as a Secretary last year. Then I got an opportunity this year to work with Equity and Diversity, ahh, to work on the Fusion Festival, which is one of the biggest festivals uni wide. And I also represent the uni in the Mayor's Student Ambassador Program. So I have extensively been involved from with the university and outside in the community and kind of contribute as much as I can to the student life.

What I can tell commencing students about this campus, starting on this campus especially is that there is lots to get involved with. The campus is buzzing. I mean in terms of student life now we have so many clubs and societies. The benefits of getting involved ahh, in extracurricular activities on campus, it's not just professional, but it is also personal. You get to network with people. I get meet people from various walks of life, various departments of the university. I get to work with them and see how things work behind the scenes. It develops your personality in one or the other way. I am more fearless than ever before! That's really helped me getting myself out there - and I think the big thing, the big underlying thing is the joy of giving back!
