Sacred spaces at Southern Cross University

Multi-faith and pastoral care pages

The purpose of this page is to help you locate and benefit from the six different types of sacred spaces that can be found at the Southern Cross University campuses. Here, the term ‘sacred space’ refers to a physical place that can be used for the practice of spiritual disciplines (such as chanting, meditation or prayer), or that provides a retreat for solitary or group reflection. Some of these sacred spaces on campus are established within university buildings and others may be found outdoors; they may be permanent or ephemeral. Sacred spaces within Southern Cross University are established on the principle that they are accessible to anyone, regardless of their religious affiliation or spiritual identification.

If you have any questions about the sacred spaces at Southern Cross University, or you have suggestions for their ongoing development, then please contact the chaplaincy team on chaplaincy@scu.edu.au.
