Study resources and academic support
Academic Skills run free workshops all year round to help you reach your full potential (online sessions are also available). Their Quick Guides are an easy-to-use resource that are designed to be downloaded so that you can refer to them quickly and easily while you are either working on an assignment.
The Library website and Library toolbox provides links to myReadings, research databases and online tutorials that help you to use these effectively. Online Learning Tools and Build Your Skills have some great resources for all students including the Academic Language Self-Assessment tool.
A student mentor can make a big difference to your life as a first year student (and in your later years you may like to become a mentor yourself).
Other things students commonly look for:
- SCU Policy Library (SCU rules and policies)
- Advanced Standing — can you claim some credit for prior learning?
- Indigenous Australian Student Services provides a community within a community
- I.T. and technical support is available from Technology Services
- School Contact Details
- Course Enrolment Guides
- Disability Officer
