University Medal recipient

"Receiving the University Medal has been life-changing," Samantha said. "It has distinguished me from other graduates in what is a highly competitive field, allowing me to gain entry into a selective postgraduate program and kick-start my career.

"The most attractive thing about psychology is the career versatility that comes with it. Studying psychology at Southern Cross University will prepare you to undertake work in a variety of fields. You won't be limited to clinical practise or research. You might choose instead to work in forensics, sport, health, human resources, marketing or education, to name a few.

"I was thrilled to discover how broad my employment prospects were so soon after graduating. It's wonderful to be presented with so many incredible opportunities this early in my career."

Now in Sydney, Samantha is studying a Doctorate/Masters double degree in clinical psychology. Next year, she will commence researching a memory phenomenon in children with temporal lobe epilepsy called accelerated long-term forgetting.
