Innovation on the North Coast will get a major boost under plans being developed between Southern Cross University and retired inventor and philanthropist, George Lewin.
Mr Lewin was commenting on the announcement by the Vice-Chancellor of Southern Cross University, Professor John Rickard, that the university had reached in-principle agreement with Mr Lewin on a series of initiatives to promote innovation and commercialization in the Northern Rivers.
Details of the initiatives will be announced over the next few months.
“Southern Cross University is well known for its innovative teaching and research,” Professor Rickard said. “Our aim is to make everything we do regionally relevant and internationally significant. This is an exciting opportunity to work with others who have a similar vision,” he said.
