Last year John won the ABC New Inventors program Inventor of the Year award for his unique process that cleanly and efficiently recovers 100 per cent of the products which make up a tyre.
The Molectra Technologies inventor and founder will speak at the next Green Room Forum, organised by the SCU Environmental Science Social Club Inc, on Tuesday, April 18.
The system developed by Mr Dobozy has attracted interest from waste management companies, government departments and environmental organisations across the world.
It combines mechanical, chemical and microwave treatments to recover clean vulcanised crumb, oil, carbon and steel from waste tyres.
Some of the components recovered are then value-added to make new products such as silicone tiles, re-bonded rubber, activated carbon, diesel and jet fuel and soil aerator.
Entry to John's talk is $25 to members of the public and $5 to club members (you can join on the night). It's on at 6pm sharp in the U231 lecture theatre (directions from the main gatehouse).
