Dr Milica Music
I studied medicine at St Bartholomew's and The Royal London hospital in the UK, and did my junior doctor training in East London. After finishing this I came to Melbourne, for what was initially to be one year job in the Emergency Department, but then turned into 4 years of Emergency medicine, Critical care but also General medicine, Psychiatry and Health Care of the Elderly. Needless to say I enjoyed it all immensely and decided that General Practice was for me as I loved all aspects of medicine. And because it gave me an opportunity to treat the patient rather than just treat the disease.
So I went back home to do the GP training, which I did in Kent, passed the MRCGP exams, worked for 5 years as a GP in Sussex, and lived in a lovely town by the sea called Brighton.
But Australia, with its lifestyle, weather and amazing beaches proved to be a stronger pull and so I came back to work as a GP here. I still live by the sea, in this lovely part of NSW, love to surf and swim, and I try my best to avoid the sharks.
At work I love to work in partnership with my patients and my colleagues. My special interests are neurology, psychiatry, mental health, chronic illness, palliative care, but this is an ever expanding list.
