Master class 1: Source reduction - Creating behavioural change using incentives and penalties for producers and consumers of plastic, focussing on minimisation of single use plastics, use of alternative materials, reuse technologies, light weighting in manufacturing, policies and incentive schemes.
Master class 2: Infrastructure and Networks - Circular network chains for repurposing and end-of-life recyclability, waste containment, transport hubs and nodes and creating cost efficiencies in local economies
Master class 3: Standardising approaches for measuring success - Development of standard marine environment assessment approaches for comparative assessment between sites for targeting and measuring success of on ground works, including measuring volumes, ages and origins of plastics debris and discussion on policies and action plan developments according to relevant international requirements that would be integrated to the national waste management policies and regulations.
