Southern Cross Enterprise Lab and EnergyLab partner to drive innovation for a clean energy future in the Northern Rivers
The Enterprise Lab has joined forces with EnergyLab to continue their commitment to providing sustainable opportunities for the Northern Rivers.
Supported by the NSW Boosting Business Innovation Program, this partnership will connect startups, industry, and university thought leaders and researchers to create a positive impact on the clean future of Australia.
Founded in 2016, EnergyLab is Australia’s leading clean-tech business accelerator and the first accelerator in Australia to focus on energy startups. Principally sponsored by Origin Energy, EnergyLab is committed to creating a clean-energy future in Australia through empowering and supporting startups through their accelerator programs.
The EnergyLab Incubator Program is designed to provide clean energy startups with the guidance and support that is needed to go from concept to securing customers and raising capital.
During the program, startups receive:
- Access to free co-working space
- Accounting and legal advice
- Workshops on startup fundamentals
- Introductions to mentors and international partners.

Enterprise Lab x EnergyLab - Accelerator Program
The accelerator program is designed to boost clean energy startups in the Northern Rivers region and offers support throughout the program from 6-24 months.
The Accelerator Program includes but is not limited to:
- Free co-working space
- Networking and connections with industry leaders
- Business coaching
- Legal and accounting support
- Fundamental business training
- Funding opportunities and assistance in raising capital
Startups accepted into the Early Stage Acceleration Program who meet additional criteria are also given the opportunity to be offered $50, 000 in seed capital from Artesian Venture Capital firm, the manager of the Clean Energy Seed fund.
Does my startup have to focus on energy technology?
No. There is scope for startups who are specialising in any area that contributes to a clean-energy future in Australia. This includes agriculture, transport, energy generation, waste management, and energy efficiency among other areas.
