Southern Cross University, the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Mid North Coast Local Health District and Northern NSW Local Health District welcome applications for a PhD scholarship for a research initiative to map a localised evidence base to inform decisions about future actions to address domestic and family violence on the North Coast (Mid North Coast and Northern NSW Local Health Districts).

The North Coast Domestic and Family Violence Steering Committee’s goal is to improve multi-agency collaboration on preventive and support strategies. • Systematically review the literature to identify contributory or correlated factors for domestic and family violence
  • Development of a data modelling strategy using NSW Police and NSW Health recorded data related to incidents of domestic and family violence
  • Analysis of local patterns and geographic clusters for domestic and family violence on the North Coast to inform multi-agency strategies and responses

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Associate Professor Marie Hutchinson, Dr Steve Provost and Associate Professor Wendy Gilleard (SCU, School of Health and Human Sciences).
