Our vision is to provide world-leading marine science research that is regionally relevant and nationally and internationally significant.
The Marine Ecology Research Centre (MERC) builds on the internationally recognised marine research of the Coral Reef Research Group and the Whale Research Group at Southern Cross University and its Director is Professor Peter Harrison.
The MERC team includes more than 20 marine researchers and many postgraduate students within the Faculty of Science and Engineering based at the Southern Cross University Lismore Campus and the National Marine Science Centre in Coffs Harbour.
