Lectures and tutorial rooms
Building A, Level 2 is the classroom level; there is a lecture theatre (Room A2.20) which is state of the art and used for video linked lectures.
Building B has Southern Cross University Health Clinic, a number of tutorial rooms, labs and special rooms designed specifically for our Education and Health Science students.
The first letter and number of a room will tell you which Building and Level you should go to find your room. For example room A2.04 is located in Building A, Level 2.
See the Gold Coast map for more information.
Shared Services Hub
On the ground floor of Building A, you will find the Shared Services Hub, a one stop shop for students looking for student services. The Shared Services Hub provides administrative support for students ranging from course information to assistance with study plans and enrolment advice; the staff have a wealth of knowledge about SCU and its services. If you have a question and don't know where to go, start here. If they don't know the answer, they will certainly know who can.
The Co-op provides students with textbooks, study materials, and other merchandise and is located in Building A.
The Green Room offers a selection of food and drinks, including fresh cold pressed juices and is located outside Building C.
A short walk away is Airport Central, which includes a number of food options, Sierra Fitness and Southern Cross Tavern.
Computer labs and access
Building A and C have full wireless access for students with mobile devices and laptops.
Computers can be found in the Library in Building C, Level 4; in Building B, Level 4, in the student lounge; and in room B4.24 and room B4.25. Computer rooms are designated quiet areas. Please remember to respect other students as they complete their study and assignments.
A student lounge is located in Building B, Level 4. This is a great meeting place for students and provides a relaxing space for students to kick back in between classes and study sessions.
Located in Building C, Level 1 and 2, the Library contains a separate ‘study group’ rooms, which can be booked by students wanting to undertake study sessions with their peers. The Library also provides a variety of spaces giving students the opportunity to study in an environment that best suits them. Specialised Liaison Librarians are available for individual consultation and we recommend you get to know your Librarian as they can be a valuable asset during the course of your studies.
The Library is primarily online and provides students with access to a wide range of databases needed for tertiary study. The online library services are a great resource for students giving the opportunity to access the Library from home, your own laptop or from one of the many Library computers. Students can also borrow books from our other campuses.
IT support staff are also located in the Library for all your IT enquiries.
CoastRs is the student association for students enrolled internally at the Gold Coast campus or studying externally. The CoastRs office is located in Building A1.20.
