Essential Energy Female Engineering Scholarship Program

This scholarship, supported by Essential Energy, offers support to a female-identifying Bachelor of Engineering Systems (Honours) student. The scholarship will help to expand career opportunities, and offers potential paid work experience and potential employment post completion of studies.

This scholarship is for up to three years with a total maximum of $30,000. Payments will be $10,000 annually for future full-time enrolment and pro rata for future part-time enrolment.

How to apply

Applicants applying for this scholarship must:

  1. Be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
  2. Be enrolled in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a Bachelor of Engineering Systems (Honours) at Southern Cross University.
  3. Be enrolled in either full-time or part-time study, in either on-campus or online delivery mode.
  4. Identify as Female.
  5. Achieve a minimum of a pass average across all subjects during the course of study.

Note: Students may also be offered to complete a period of paid work experience as negotiated with Essential Energy if they wish to.

Selection will be based on:

  1. A personal introductory statement (100-200 words) that includes why they are applying for the scholarship and what they hope to achieve in the future through the completion of their chosen area of study.
  2. Candidate’s previous academic history or other meritorious achievements may be considered as part of the selection process.

The Bachelor of Engineering Systems (Honours) is designed to meet the requirements for accreditation at the level of Professional Engineer by Engineers Australia. Foundational core units build knowledge of the basic sciences, practical skills and the processes and philosophy that underpin the engineering profession.
