Going to art school is the motivation to get you to put your work out there and being able to do what you want to do. You actually have the knowledge of how to do it. There are certain things that I've always wondered how to do and I've been taught now.

My name is Sabrina Sterk and I'm studying a Bachelor of Arts and Design.

I've really enjoyed moving through a lot of different subjects here which have helped me figure out what I really wanted to do. I walked into the course knowing that I wanted to do art but not exactly knowing what direction. I think as soon as I came here I was really comforted by the fact that the teachers know a lot of students, it feels like they motivate you to just try as many things as possible and as soon as you find something you like, they say great! Stick with it, explore it, have fun with it and if you don't like it, drop it and move to something else. It's very fluid and natural like that.

The majority of learning is through making, something which I'm finding definitely suits me best. The teacher shows us different mediums that we can use but it's really up to the individuals as to what way they want to go and explore.

I have developed the goal of exhibiting my work since I started studying because I've got more confidence. I'm able to slowly move towards all those those dreams and make them a bit more of a reality.
