Studying social welfare or social work at Southern Cross University will kick-start your human services career. We offer a three-year Bachelor of Social Welfare that is accredited by the Australian Community Workers Association, and a two-year postgraduate Master of Social Work (Professional Qualifying) program, accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers. If you complete both degrees with us, you can reduce your overall study time to just four calendar years.
At Southern Cross University we offer both online and on-campus delivery with state-of-the-art technology and opportunities for live interaction with our educators who will guide, motivate and inspire you. You can join discussion boards to interact with your peers, use video learning resources and participate in residential intensives where you will immerse yourself in preparation for professional practice. Job Outlook Australia predicts that social welfare and social work jobs growth is likely to be strong to very strong in the future. In social welfare, 25,000 new job openings are forecast between 2015 and 2020. In social work, the projection is for up to 50,000 new job openings!
