About the School of Education
The School of Education is a dynamic learning community dedicated to fostering excellence in teacher education.
The suite of education degrees has been designed to enhance career opportunities, providing students the opportunity to become qualified teachers in various areas: early childhood and primary (birth to 12 years); primary with the opportunity to specialise; primary and secondary; or secondary in a range of teaching subjects. Degrees are delivered on campus at Lismore, Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast and online.
The School of Education draws on strong, collaborative links with schools and other educational organisations. It also disseminates and advances knowledge through scholarly research, providing quality professional development opportunities for practicing teachers.
The School is home to the Centre for Children and Young People, which promotes the status and voice of children and young people through its research, education and advocacy activities.
It is also home to the Sustainability, Environment and the Arts in Education (SEAE) Research Cluster, which is a world–leading international research collective at the interface of education and the Anthropocene.
