The School of Education's Research Awards and Recognition Initiatives honours outstanding research contribution.
Researcher of the Year - determined by the most number of registered HERDC publications, successful external grants and HDR completions.
Early Career Researcher of the Year - determined by the most number of registered HERDC publications, successful external grants and HDR completions.
HDR Excellence Award - Best ERA eligible publication by a HDR candidate as determined by the School's Research Committee.
HDR Supervisor of the Year - determined by nominations reviewed by a panel including the Dean of Education, other senior academic SoE staff, and an external senior academic member.
Dean's Honours List - Undergraduate and Postgraduate students with a GPA average of 6 are added to the Dean's Honours List.
2019 Award recipients
The Southern Cross University 2019 Impact Awards was held at the Lismore Campus on 30 October 2019. This was a wonderful event to celebrate the great achievements of our staff and alumni. The School of Education staff achievements during the evening included Dr Lisa Jacka, a finalist in the Teaching Excellence Awards for her teaching in the School of Education – brilliant work Lisa!
Congratulations also to Holly Millican, for becoming the Young Alumnus of the Year for her work at South Grafton High School and developing a thriving Mathematics tutoring program. Holly Millican is an award-winning young-career teacher on a mission to empower and inspire students. Her alternative mathematics learning opportunities engage 21st century learners to help shape them into global citizens. Holly extends her gratitude to all School of Education staff for the fantastic skills and knowledge she gained from studying at Southern Cross University, and how this has given her confidence and competence to carry out her teaching as well as the wonderful programs she has developed over time. Additionally, and notably, the legacy and impact of our long serving staff was honoured for 25 Years at Southern Cross University. Congratulations to Associate Professor Marilyn Chaseling for her service to the university and the School of Education.
