RISE 2019: The Nature of Science
The School of Environment, Science and Engineering hosts the annual postgraduate research conference, RISE, Research In Environment, Science and Engineering.
The Conference aims to provide a supportive and fun platform for postgraduate students from environmental science, engineering, marine science and plant science fields to pitch their research. Students also have the opportunity to network and develop effective communication skills while engaging with university academics and the local community.
This year’s theme, ‘Collaboration’, aims to highlight how cooperation and communication can promote impactful research. It encourages researchers to develop networks not only with other researchers in their field, but with researchers from other disciplines, industry and government partners, and community stakeholders.
There will be a number of exciting external keynote speakers at this year’s conference, providing insight into both academic and industry career paths. We will also be hosting a number of workshops that will be focused on this years theme of collaboration.
