Completing the 2020 Science Teachers Engagement Program – Biology (STEP-up Biology) will contribute 5.5 hrs of NESA registered PD addressing 2.1.2; 3.2.2; 3.4.2; 6.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
About the course
The STEP-Up Biology Professional Development course gives teachers the chance to extend and deepen their knowledge of the dynamic world of Biology with a Marine Science twist.
Held in our state-of-the-art research facility, this one day hands-on workshop aligns with the National Curriculum (Science; Biology) and is ideal for teachers looking to incorporate practical learning in the classroom.
The workshop includes talks by ocean research experts, hands-on lab activities, and opportunities for teachers to interact with their colleagues as well as Southern Cross University National Marine Science Centre researchers.
