2016 RISE conference

2016 will mark the 5th anniversary of the Research in Environment, Science and Engineering (RISE) conference. To be held at the Southern Cross University Lismore campus, the School of Environment, Science and Engineering will host the conference on October 25th and 26th.

The RISE conference aims to provide a supportive and fun experience for postgraduate students in the environment, engineering and core sciences to engage and share each other's research, develop confidence and communication skills. RISE 2016 will also include exciting keynote presentations from renowned guest speakers (see below).

The theme of this year's conference is 'Exploring Research Horizons' and will involve talks in the following key research areas:

  • Archaemetry, geochronology and isotope geochemistry
  • Biogeochemistry
  • Coastal processes
  • Environmental and civil engineering
  • Fisheries and aquaculture
  • Marine and freshwater ecology
  • Plant and forest science
  • Regional and Urban Planning
  • Terrestrial ecology
  • Social Science

  • Tim Payne, Institute of Environmental Research at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation
  • Dr Natalie Moltschaniwskyj, Director Fisheries Research, NSW Department of Primary Industries

Chaired sessions, by academics from the School of Environmental, Science and Engineering, Southern Cross Plant Science and Southern Cross GeoScience.
