LAW00111 Legal Process – Compulsory workshop

This is an introductory workshop for LLB students enrolled in LAW00111 Legal ProcessThis workshop is compulsory as learning experiences and skills required at an LLB level cannot be taught effectively solely by distance study.

These learning experiences include critical analysis and familiarity with legal theory at an LLB level, the stimulation of social critique, the ability to develop legal argument, and the ability to communicate effectively in a range of communication modes, particularly oral communication skills as applied in advocacy, moots (practice court), negotiation and mediation.

LAW00057 Conveyancing Law – Compulsory workshop

You must download the Part C Readings, these are documents that will be discussed throughout the day and you must have them
with you at the workshop.

LAW00051 Legal Research and Writing – Non-compulsory workshop

This introductory workshop is tentatively scheduled for new students enrolled in this unit.

This workshop is not compulsory but is highly recommended for online students commencing university study for the first time, in particular those students admitted to the Associate Degree in Law and the Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies.

Students who attended the Legal Process workshop are welcome, however, not expected to attend.

Honours - First Compulsory Workshop

Honours students in law must complete two units of study in their Honours year. The first unit, LAW10181 Legal Research: Context, Method and Perspective, is offered only in Session 1 each year. The unit requires attendance at a compulsory 1-day Workshop, which will be held at the Gold Coast SCU campus on Saturday 10 March, 2018.

Attendance at this workshop is compulsory unless an exemption is granted by the School's Director of the Honours program.

Professional Conduct – Compulsory workshop

This compulsory workshop is a four-day, key feature of the Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Students must attend this workshop when they are enrolled in LAW00519 Professional Conduct which is normally in the final year of study.
