This unit instills students with the legal research and advocacy expertise needed to compete in mooting competitions, honing skills needed to practice and succeed in the practice of law.
Gain expertise in analysing a hypothetical legal problem; teamwork; written submissions; structuring a legal argument; responding to questions from the bench and persuading the judge.
Presenter: Dr Natalia Szablewska
Dr Szablewska is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Mooting at the School of Law and Justice. She is regularly invited to judge at moot court competitions, including the Jessup International Law Moot Court, the Australian Law Students' Association and Australian Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot Court and the Telders International Law Moot Court.
She is on the Editorial Boards of International Journal of Refugee Law (OUP), Journal of International Humanitarian Legal Studies (Brill) and Studies in Public Law (AMU), and a popular blog on international law (Przeglad Prawa Miedzynarodowego).
