General English (GE)

General English helps students develop their English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills with a focus on communicative English. Students have the opportunity to develop language skills as well as strategies for learning and using English in a range of contexts (e.g. work, holidays). 

Classes may be mixed-level ability:

  • Pre-intermediate English (CEFR A2 – B1)
  • Intermediate English (CEFR B2)
  • Upper-intermediate English (CEFR B2+)
  • Advanced English (CEFR C1) 

When can I start?

Depending on your requirements, classes can be five to 50 weeks. General English classes start on Mondays (except during Easter or Christmas).

International students studying General English must be on a tourist, working holiday or student visa, and class attendance is closely monitored as per the Attendance Policy for ELICOS Programs
