Dr Anjum Mehmood
I graduated from the Grodno State Medical University, Belarus (Eastern Europe) and then moved to Pakistan.
In Pakistan, I worked as a family physician and in a local hospital. Working in both sectors has assisted me to master my skills in primary, secondary and tertiary care. In Pakistan, I worked in one of the top cardiac hospitals.
In 2012, I moved to Australia, and completed further medical study with the Australian Medical Board.
I have worked for 4 years at Lismore Base Hospital as Senior Resident Medical Officer, in a variety of disciplines including Emergency Medicine, Gynecology & Obstetrics, General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Cardiology and Renal Medicine.
For 1½ years, I worked as a Registrar in General Medicine, and finished my WBA with the Australian Medical Council at John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle, before returning to Lismore.
I live locally and enjoy being a part of the Northern Rivers community, and offer communication skills in English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Russian languages.
My keen interest areas are preventative medicine, cardiovascular diseases, mental health conditions and chronic disease management.
