Dr Richard Arnot
I have several years’ experience in medical academia: prior to surgical training I spent 18 months as a university demonstrator in Anatomy, and during my training I worked I a surgical research laboratory for a similar period, and was awarded a Masters of Surgery for a thesis studying gastric ulceration in pigs at the University of Cape Town.
For part of my training, I was Lecturer in Surgery at Bristol University, and throughout my subsequent surgical career, I have taught undergraduate medical students and surgical trainees in Britain, Australia and Saudi Arabia.
Following my retirement after 40 years of clinical surgery, I look forward to my position at Southern Cross University where I can combine that experience to continue working in medical research and as a surgical mentor and lecturer to General Practitioners and undergraduate medical students.
