By entering the Fusion Festival Photography Competition conducted by Southern Cross University Lismore NSW 2480 ABN: 41 995 651 524 | CRICOS Provider: 01241G, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
Competition Terms and Conditions
1. Who can enter
1.1 Entry is free and open to students and staff of Southern Cross University and Coffs Harbour Education Campus TAFE and Senior College.
1.2 If under 18 years of age, entrants must have their parent's or legal guardian's consent to enter the competition.
2. How to enter
2.1 The competition opens on Monday 13 August 2018 and entrants must submit their photograph(s) by midnight, Sunday 2 September 2018 using the Fusion Festival Photography Competition online form.
2.2 By completing the Fusion Festival Photography Competition online form the entrant certifies that any individual who appears in submitted photograph(s) has given the entrant their permission to take the photograph and to submit the photograph in this competition, knowing that the photograph may be published by the University including on the World Wide Web. Further, in submitting photograph(s), the entrant agrees to indemnify Southern Cross University should this not be the case.
3. The competition
3.1 Participation in the competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
3.2 All entries must be original to and created solely by the person entering the competition. The photograph must not contain any material that infringes the rights of anyone else.
3.3 All entries must encompass the 2018 Fusion Festival Photography Competition theme: "Faces of Fusion"
3.4 Entries may (but are not required to) be accompanied by a description of 25 words or less.
3.5 Photography files must be in .jpg format (no more than 1-2MB in size).
3.6 A person may submit up to three (3) entries, however entries are restricted to one (1) photograph per form.
3.7 The prize winners will be selected by a panel of judges determined by Southern Cross University. The prize winners will be notified via the email and/or telephone details provided in their online entry form.
3.8 Following notification by email and/or telephone, the prize winners will be publicly announced on the University’s web-site and may also be posted on the University’s Library's Facebook page.
3.9 A selection of entries may be displayed in the University’s print publications, public displays, social media sites and on the World Wide Web.
3.10 Entrants may be contacted by Southern Cross University unless we receive notification otherwise.
3.11 In the event that a prize winner is under the age of 18 years, the prize may be awarded to the winner's parent or legal guardian.
3.12 The prize winners decision is final (unless unclaimed) and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.13 Southern Cross University reserves the right to select an alternative winner in the event a winner is unable to satisfy these terms and conditions, forfeits or does not claim a prize.
3.14 The prize is not redeemable by the winner for cash or alternative prizes.
3.15 Southern Cross University reserves the right to substitute a prize for another prize of equal value in the event that the prize is not available.
4. Limitation of liability
4.1 Southern Cross University reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition subject to any written directions under applicable legislation in the event this competition is not able to be conducted as planned, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the University which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition. Southern Cross University also reserves the right to disqualify any individual who the University has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition.
4.2 Southern Cross University accepts no responsibility and shall not be held legally liable or responsible for any accident, loss, injury or damage to any individual or property whether direct or indirect, whether in contract, tort or negligence or otherwise arising out of or in connection with the competition or the prize either during or after the competition.
5.1 Personal information provided by an entrant to Southern Cross University for the purpose of entering the competition will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the University's Privacy Management Plan. A copy of the Privacy Management Plan is available at scu.edu.au/privacy. Personal information collected will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, reused, rented, loaned or otherwise disclosed to a third party otherwise than in accordance with the Privacy Management Plan and these terms and conditions.
6. Use of entries by Southern Cross University
6.1 Each entrant retains copyright of their photograph(s) but grants Southern Cross University the right to reproduce, publish, transmit or otherwise communicate to the public their entry, in whole or in part, in or using any media for any purpose without permission or payment. This may include in the University’s print publications, public displays, social media sites and on the World Wide Web.
6.2 Each entrant represents and agrees that all elements contained in the competition entry or other material:
6.2.1 are original to the entrant/s and available for use as contemplated by this clause;
6.2.2 does and will not, in any way, violate or breach any of the terms of any other agreement the entrant may be a party to;
6.2.3 does not contain defamatory, tortious, or otherwise unlawful, untrue or inaccurate information, infringe or violate any copyright or other right, or contain any matter the publication or sale of which will violate any federal or state legislation or regulation.
