1. In addition to the Christmas/New Year closure, employees located at campuses within New South Wales and Queensland will observe the following public holidays in 2023:

Christmas/New Year 2023-24

2. The University will officially be closed from the close of business Friday, 22 December 2023 and reopen on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.

3. Professional employees required to work during this time in order to attend to students or maintain other critical services on:

• Monday 25 December, Tuesday 26 December and Monday 1 January will be eligible for normal penalties applying to work on public holidays;
• Wednesday 27 December, Thursday 28 December and Friday 29 December will be paid as the public holiday rate or employees may elect to take a day off in lieu at another time during the year, subject to operational requirements.
