1. In addition to the Christmas/New Year closure, employees located at campuses within New South Wales and Queensland will observe the following public holidays in 2020:

Christmas/New Year 2020-21

2. The University will officially be closed from the close of business Thursday, 24 December 2020 and reopen on Monday, 4 January 2021.

3. Professional employees required to work during this time in order to attend to students or maintain other critical services on:

  • Friday 25 December, Saturday 26 December, Monday 28 December, Tuesday 29 December and Friday 1 January will be eligible for normal penalties applying to work on public holidays;
  • Wednesday 30 December and Thursday 31 December will be paid as the public holiday rate or employees may elect to take a day off in lieu at another time during the year, subject to operational requirements.
