Professional Staff Scholarship

The University offers a scholarship to a member of our professional staff to study, on a part-time basis, an undergraduate degree relevant to their career development at Southern Cross University.

A scholarship to the value of the applicable Student Contribution Amount fees and Student Services and Amenities Fee for the course of study (to a maximum of 5 years), on a part-time basis, per year. Continuing support from year to year will be subject to satisfactory progress within the course of study.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the Southern Cross University Professional Staff Scholarship you must:

  • be currently employed in a Professional Staff position on a continuing or fixed-term basis and with more than 12 months continuous service; and,
  • be enrolled part time in a Commonwealth Supported undergraduate degree program at Southern Cross University.

Process

HR Services will call for applications in June each year.

To apply, you must submit a one page statement which clearly outlines the relevance of your studies to your career development plans at Southern Cross University. In addition to this, please provide:

  • a copy of your most recent Performance Review Plan (PRP); and,
  • a copy of the course outline and verification of your acceptance or enrollment in the program.

Selection criteria

Scholarship selection is based on merit and applicants will be assessed on the relevance of their proposed study to their career at SCU.

Applications are strongly encouraged from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and employees who have never previously completed an undergraduate program of study.
