For much of history, people with disability have experienced discrimination and stigma, often primarily associated with society’s misconceptions about their ability. This course raises your awareness of disability.

Understand the University’s obligations under Privacy Laws, what information is covered by these laws and how does it apply to you and your position at SCU.  The online component, Privacy Awareness Training, located in the Professional Learning Centre, must be completed prior to participating in the virtual scenario session.

Cybersecurity Awareness 

Find out how to avoid online threats that might target you or our organisation. Learn how to identify common online threats, understand risk factors for each type of threat, and how to minimise the risk of an attack.

Emergency Evacuation Training (Gold Coast) 

In an emergency situation you may only have a few minutes from the sounding of the evacuation alarm to evacuate the building. It is very important that you understand what to do in an emergency or a fire so you can evacuate quickly and safely if required.

Managing Mental Health Risks at Work 

The workplace can impact positively or negatively on people's mental health. This course focuses on identifying and managing risks to mental health in the workplace, such as work-related stress.

Mental Health First Aid - Refresher 

Refresher Mental Health First Aid course is available to staff that have completed a full 2-day Mental Health First Aid course within the last 3 years.  This course will enable accredited Mental Health First Aiders to revise their knowledge and skills, and to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.

Recruitment decisions can impact the organisation's performance and selecting the right candidates is integral to business success. Recruitment panel members must understand how to apply effective, reliable and valid interviewing and selection processes to ensure sound recruitment decisions. This course offers a strategic and informed approach to interviewing and selection.

SCU Wellness Bootcamp: Mental Fitness 

Resilience First Aid (RFA) as a mental health certification develops your strength-based skills to build resilience in self, your team and others. Participants will learn how to spot signs of low resilience, learn language to talk proactively and build skills that build resilience.
