Course summary

Secondary school teachers have the rewarding role of preparing young people to become positive and active citizens in modern society. This combined degree prepares graduates to teach in up to two secondary teaching areas. This course produces teachers who understand the attributes of inclusive education, the development and learning of young people, and the importance of life-long learning.

To expand career opportunities, the degree offers specialist majors in Special Education or Indigenous Australian Education. Students also complete studies in literacy and numeracy, supporting learners with diverse needs, assessment, and the use of ICT in education.

Students will complete a number of practical teaching experiences throughout the degree to put theory into practice and to observe and reflect on the dynamics of the education environment.
