Course summary

The Master of Social Work (Professional Qualifying) is an innovative course based on a problem-based learning paradigm. This course is suited to applicants who have undertaken prior study in the social sciences, social welfare, psychology, or related fields.

The course enables students to gain the skills, knowledge and values to be strategic, ethical and reflective social work practitioners in a wide range of organisational settings, including working with individuals, groups and communities. 

Please note, in accordance with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) accreditation standards, this course requires on-line students to attend mandatory residential schools throughout the year. You must be available to attend the schools on these dates in 2019:

  • Session 1: WEL 91003/4 and WEL92001/2. Two residential schools, both held 11 - 17 April 2019
  • Session 2: WEL91005. 11 - 17 August 2019
  • Session 3: WEL91003/4. 17 - 23 November 2019.
