The Undergraduate Qualifying Program (UQP) prepares international students for undergraduate study in business, tourism and hospitality, and information technology. It assists students to develop the skills necessary for success at the undergraduate level.
The course combines English language and academic skills development with academic, content-based studies. It is designed for international students whose academic qualifications and/or English proficiency levels are slightly below Southern Cross University’s entry requirements for undergraduate degrees.
Students who successfully complete the Undergraduate Qualifying Program will meet the academic and English language requirements for the following undergraduate degrees: Diploma of Business, Bachelor of Business and Enterprise and Bachelor of Information Technology.
Students who successfully complete the UQP will be granted two units of credit towards these courses.

Be a minimum of 18 years old at the start of the program. Have completed High-School with an ATAR (or equivalent) which is recognised as having successfully completed an Australian Year 11.
Applicants for admission to candidature to the Undergraduate Qualifying Program must have an assessable entry qualification from a country where English is the main language and where the medium of instruction for that qualification was English; or, for all Undergraduate Qualifying streams, have completed an International English Language Test (or comparable test scores*) with:
* comparable scores include SCU College Placement Test scores, CPE, CAE, and TOEFL PBT (see www.scu.edu.au/englishskills)
English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this course are as follows

Tuition fees are in Australian dollars, and are subject to change, including annual increases over the duration of a course. Annual tuition fee is based on completing 8 units per year. In addition students are required to pay OSHC for the duration of their visa in advance. Non-tuition fee covers textbooks, stationery and excursions. |

Course Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a course. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes.
Assessment may be in the form of essays, reports, audio or video presentations, online quizzes, case analyses, and examinations.
During the English language component, the focus is on in-class intensive English language development.
During the academic units, on-campus students experience a variety of teaching approaches including face-to-face classes. Some units offer online activities, classes, pre-recorded and/or live. The method of teaching may vary from unit to unit. Students in the EAP component will comply with ESOS standards for such programs in terms of attendance.
