Southern Cross University Head-Start has been created to offer successful applicants a rich and challenging learning experience with a range of benefits.

Direct entry into Southern Cross University undergraduate courses
Successfully completing the fee-free Headstart program and your year 12 studies can allow you to gain direct entry into a Southern Cross University undergraduate course.*
As a Head-Start student you are able to access all SCU campus facilities for the duration of the program.
Advanced standing
You may be given advanced standing (credit) for your successfully completed unit of study when you enrol in a relevant SCU course, saving you money and time off your degree.
* Some additional requirements may apply for Education, Midwifery, Art and Design and Hotel Management.

SCU Head-Start has been designed to fit in with most high school time tables. This means you don't miss valuable lessons with your high school teachers.
You have a variety of course choices at the end of year 12
Things can change significantly over two years, something you wanted to do in year 10 may be nothing like you want to do at the end of year 12. SCU Head-Start will give you direct entry to many undergraduate courses at SCU. This gives you a variety of study options once you complete the program and your senior studies.

You’ll be supported every step of the way
Southern Cross University will provide you with a unique orientation program as well as ongoing support to assist you to develop as a confident and independent learner.
Head-Start allows you to network academically
The Head-Start program will create opportunities for you to connect with like-minded, high-achieving students through a range of social networking and academic activities.
We have a team who looks after the whole Head-Start program
Our Head-Start team are familiar with the secondary school environment, and already have a connection with your school and school careers adviser. They are there to help you, offering you a sole point of contact for any queries you or your parents may have about Head-Start.
