An offer of a place in a select number of Southern Cross University courses
When you pass your selected university unit and pending approval from your high school that you have completed your senior studies and maintained an academic standard over year 11 and year 12 you will be offered a place in a select number of SCU courses.
You will be given advanced standing for your completed unit of study when you enrol in a relevant SCU course.
A reduction in your HECS liability
Through advanced standing for the unit you complete you will receive a reduction in your HECS liability based on your study load when you choose to enrol in a relevant SCU course.

SCU Head-Start has been designed to fit in with most high school time tables. This means you don't miss valuable lessons with your high school teachers.
You have a variety of course choices at the end of year 12
Things can change significantly over two years, something you wanted to do in year 10 may be nothing like you want to do at the end of year 12. SCU Head-Start will give you direct entry to many undergraduate courses at SCU. This gives you a variety of study options once you complete the program and your senior studies.

Southern Cross University will provide you with a unique orientation program as well as ongoing support to assist you to develop as a confident and independent learner.
Head-Start allows you to network academically
The Head-Start program will create opportunities for you to connect with like minded high achieving students through a range of social networking and academic activities.
We have one person who looks after the whole Head-Start program
Our dedicated Head-Start co-ordinator is an experienced secondary school teacher who is familiar with a tertiary environment. The Head-Start co-ordinator is the sole point of contact for the program which means response turn around to your inquiries will be quick and direct. This role has been created to help make your taste of university life a positive and fulfilling experience.
What are SCU experiences?
Head-Start students will be invited to several academic networking experiences created to further develop a passion for knowledge and intellectual pursuits.
These experiences aim to provide participants with a competitive edge in their Year 11 and 12 studies with a significant portion of the content linked to the senior school syllabus. Students will be notified of dates throughout the program.
